The textbook is addressed to the students of Polish as a foreign, second and heritage language, at the independent user level (B1+/B2). It may be a useful aid in teaching teenage students of schools in Poland and Polish schools abroad. It can also help those who are preparing for the examination of language proficiency.
In the textbook one can find: written forms required at B1+/ B2 levels, grammatical and stylistic issues, communication roles, notions and intentions that determine the character and aim of a written text, its content, and various techniques needed to work efficiently with text.
Input into written exercises is based on both verbal and visual stimulants. In the textbook, an innovative method of teaching writing through listening is included. This method takes into account the role of intersemiotic translation as a mediation task and also requiring of the students’ active (co)participation. These actions are useful in doing projects, which assume individual and teamwork as well as fully independent students’ activities using Internet resources. All the mentioned tasks are connected with an intercultural approach, which is also portrayed in the textbook.
